A lot of everyday carry gear tends to look the same — lots of greys, blacks, whites and other unassuming colors meant to blend in with anyone's everyday. The result of going with neutrals is that there aren't a lot of options for those who want their gear to stand out — until today.
For anyone looking to brighten up their EDC kit, The James Brand and Timex just announced their third collaborative effort: a capsule EDC collection that features a watch, wallet and knife decked out in '80s colorways, heritage design from Timex and modern styling from The James Brand.

The Timex Ironman was already a stalwart in the brand's lineup, and The James Brand version sees an update in both looks and materials. The new Timex Ironman x The James Brand watch reprises previous features including a countdown timer, 30-lap memory stopwatch, customizable alarm and Indiglo dial while incorporating new elements like a slip-thru fabric strap crafted from #tide upcycled ocean-bound plastic and 100m of water resistance.
The electric yellow case is made with lightweight yet durable resin, accented by bright red buttons and a teal wristband for an eye-catching, functional look. “A watch says a lot about its wearer, and we often think of timepieces as the ‘first cousin’ to our EDC products,” says Ryan Coulter, founder of The James Brand. “We are interested in exploring the relationship between all of the things we carry and how they enable experiences by working together as a system."
Alongside the Ironman watch, the capsule collection features a color-coordinated, lightweight Redstone knife and a retro canvas wallet that includes a hook and loop closure — both designed by The James Brand. The collection aims for performance on the trail or in town, while the rugged materials and bright colorways neatly connect what's on the wrist with what's in the pocket.
